About these date tools
Why convert a lunar birthday to the solar calendar?
Many elders remember only the lunar birthday, but IDs, sign-ups and reminders use the solar (AD/ROC) calendar. The solar date of a lunar birthday differs every year and must be converted by the calendar rules. This tool has built-in lunar data for 1912–2049 with leap months — enter the lunar date to get the correct solar date and zodiac.
How do you convert ROC years to AD years?
The Republic of China counts 1912 as ROC year 1, so “AD year = ROC year + 1911”, and “ROC year = AD year − 1911”. Month and day are the same in both systems; only the year changes.
What is the difference between working days and calendar days?
Calendar days count every day; working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Contracts, payments and delivery times are often counted in working days, and a miscount easily leads to a wrong due date.
Key points of the 2026 holiday rules
From the second half of 2025 the rule became “make-up leave only, no make-up workdays”: if a public holiday falls on a weekend, a nearby workday becomes a make-up holiday, but no make-up workday is scheduled — so 2026 has no make-up workdays. Labor Day has also been a nationwide holiday since 2025.
